#60 Pepper Stix


After devoting many years of diligent research and countless hours of laboratory testing, the Candy Maker was finally rewarded with his grandest creation: Pepper Stix.

Pepper combines an abundance of strength, speed, intellect, and grace. Once he realized her extraordinary nature, the Candy Maker encouraged Pepper to leave the stifling confines of the candy factory, the only home she had ever known, to chase down her true destiny in the world.

Pepper travelled far and wide, criss-crossing the continents in search of her new home. She ran with the bulls in Barcelona , chased the stars across the sky in the Sahara, climbed with the Koalas in Sydney , and soared with the eagles in Asia .

But it was all to no avail, until one day she fluttered down with the snowflakes in Western New York and landed at the doorstep of the Queen City Roller Girls. The flat track of the roller rink beckoned her striped heart and called to her candy soul. She was home. Juking, jiving, jamming, jostling, and jolting were like water for chocolate.

Pepper Stix loves the game, and the game loves her right back. She often thinks of her Candy Maker and knows that he too would love the Derby . Sometimes she wonders if maybe that's why he created her in the first place.
